The 3rd Way: Love, Power, & Justice

We recently started our series, Cross = Love. There were some comments made in the message about love as it relates to power. One of the more fascinating aspects of Jesus is His ability to bring in a "third way" when faced with difficulty, evil, oppression, and other forms of brokenness. What's a "third way?" Often times, when we are faced with challenging decisions that require an action step, we usually are confronted with one way or another way--left or right--there's only two options in our binary world.

Sometimes, we will write about these topics; but then other times, there are some who have already written in a way that captures the subject matter perfectly. We will use this space to write, but also to curate others' writings. It provides an opportunity to expose you to other thinkers, pastors, theologians and writers. It can be a risk, because you may come across something that doesn't agree with you; but, hopefully, it causes you to keep thinking critically.

This excerpt written by Walter Wink is incredibly profound, provocative, and challenging. It's a bit longer than our normal blogs, so I highly suggest you set aside some time to read it and share your reflections. What do you like? Dislike? Agree with? Disagree with? Post any comments here in the blog or on our Facebook page.

Finally, if you'd like to access any of our sermons, you can do so by video or podcast.
